Featured Sites:
WebVitamins -
WebVitamins offers incredible prices on vitamins, herbs, health and beauty product, and much more.
WebVitamins truly does have the lowest prices I have seen on the Web for many
quality products.
MuscleSurf
- offers many nutritional supplements at greatly reduced prices. They
have a full line of supplements for weightlifters and other athletes. The site even includes "Information
Guides" describing various products, "What's the best ...?"
articles to help you pick out the best high-quality, reasonably priced brand,
customer reviews of products, and other helpful buying guides.
Dietary Reference Intakes - for Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Arsenic, Boron, Chromium, Copper, Iodine, Iron, Manganese, Molybdenum, Nickel, Silicon, Vanadium, and Zinc.
Fast Food Facts - Find out the nutritional composition of a wide variety of fast foods.
Food Composition Data - "Have you ever wondered how many grams of protein, fat or other nutrients are in your favorite food? Here are some answers from the USA department of agriculture."
Glycemic Index - "Here you will find information on the Glycemic Index of foods, latest GI data, GI books, GI testing services and information on the GI symbol program." See my article on The Glycemic Index for why knowing the glycemic rating of foods is important.
Nutrient Data Laboratory Food Composition Data - "Search for values in the USDA Nutrient Database for Standard Reference, Release 13."
NutritionFocus - "Your complete source for nutritional information." By Solgar, maker of supplements, so this site is somewhat bias, but it does have quite a bit of helpful information.
Omega-3, Omega-6 - "in Oils Nuts Seeds. Essential Fatty Acids." Helpful info.
USDA Nutrient Values - "This is a simple Web interface to the USDA Nutrient Database. Nutrient values are available for 100 gram portions as well as two common serving sizes."
Zest for Life - "Detailed links to vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc. In the interest of your optimum health, and providing health info, we bring you the most comprehensive body of knowledge on vitamins and nutrition available on one site." A good source for basic info on a wide variety of nutrients. But note that this site does sell supplements, so some of the info might be a little slanted.
