Supplements Research Sites

This page list Web sites that are very helpful in researching a wide variety of supplements. I've used these sites many times myself to study about a particular supplement before trying it. All About Nutritional Supplements - "Consumers Review Supplements, Vitamins, Herbs and Prescription Drugs ... the Internet's premier source for unbiased information about nutritional supplements and prescription drugs. Our reviews, questions and comments come from consumers who have no vested interest in the supplement or pharmaceutical industries."

Google Groups - Indexes back newsgroup posts in Usenet. By searching on a supplement, you can get an idea of peoples' experiences with it.

Entrez PubMed - "PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine, includes over 14 million citations for biomedical articles back to the 1950's. These citations are from MEDLINE and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources." Searching on a supplement will show what if any studies have been done on it, and what the results were.

HealthNotes from VitaCost - Click on the "Science" link at the bottom of the page to access "HealthNotes" and other health and supplement research articles. LookSmart's FindArticles - "search and read 2.8 million articles from over 500 publications." Not limited to articles about supplements, but there is a whole section on health and fitness.

TNP Encyclopedia - The full contents of the book The Natural Pharmacist are posted on this site.
